&& Halloween Activities
Fall is officially here! Well it has been for the past few weeks and if you are local to Denver, we have gotten great fall weather so far. Every year around this time I start to make a list of all of our favorite activities to do as a family because there are so many fun things to do and we want to make sure we can cross off most of our fall bucket list.
Here I will list my top 10 favorite activities (and then some) to do with your family during the fall in Denver!
1. Pumpkin Festival at The Botanic Gardens at Chatfield -- Friday - Sunday, Oct. 12-14, 2018
The Pumpkin Festival is one of our many family traditions. With a full day of fall activities like, pony rides, horse-drawn hayrides, photo booths, carnival games, barrel train rides, corn maze, pumpkin patch, jumping pillow, slides, bounce castles and so much more! There is something for everyone! I do recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance because lines can get long and tickets are limited for this event. Plus you save $2 per ticket and if you have a big family like me those extra bucks go a long way.
*Pumpkin Festival canceled Oct. 14, 2018 due to weather
2. Apple Picking at Ya ya Farm & Orchard -- Apple picking is super popular and what better way to teach your children where apples and other fruits and veggies come from then taking them to pick their own. This is a super popular activity and unfortunately, it is sold out. Good news, you can still pick fruits, veggies and pretty flowers.
3. Pumpkin Patch -- Visiting your favorite pumpkin patch is a great tradition to start with your family. Usually, every farm has their own line up of activities. Here are a few of our favorites: Anderson Farms, Flat Acres Farm, Cottonwood Farm, Sunflower Farm,
4. Pumpkin Nights | Adams County Fairgrounds -- A magical night for everyone, with more than 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins, an undersea wonderland, a ghostly pirate ship and much more! This will be our first year attending this event and we are super excited to see everything.
5. Boo at the Zoo | Denver Zoo -- Another one of our favorite family tradition to attend since our biggest little was our littlest little. They set up tick-or-treat stations all around the zoo, animal demonstrations, and family-friendly entertainment. Best of all if you are a member, all activities are covered under your membership!
6. Tick-or-Treat Street at Children's Museum Denver -- Oct. 26-28, 2018 9am-6pm

9. Glow at the Gardens | Denver Botanic Gardens at York Street -- Oct. 17, 18, 23, 24 & 25, 2018 5:30-9:30pm
So much goes on here from, halloween carnival games, trick-or-treating, crafts, scavenger hunts, magic tricks and much more! You also enjoy the beauty of the gardens lit-up with spooky hand-carved pumpkins harvested from local farms and larger-than-life sculptures made out of pumpkins.
10. Día de los Muertos Celebration | Denver Botanic Gardens -- Nov. 3, 2018 9am-4pm
Día de los Muertos is a traditional celebration that joyfully commemorates life after death by honoring ancestors and family members who have passed. This fun and meaningful event is a great way to teach your children cultural traditions all while having a fun time watching some lucha libre, crafts, face painting, visiting El Mercado and looking at the beautifully decorated Altar's that others create for their passed loved ones.
12. Go to a corn maze
13. Take a drive up to the mountains to see the leaves change color
14. Go up to Estes Park and visit the Stanley Hotel
15. Take a fall-crunchy hike
Did I miss anything? If you attend any of these activities we might just bump into each other, see you there!
