BIG KID ROOM REFRESH WITH BIG LOT'S DREAM STREET COLLECTION

This blog post is sponsored by Big Lots, as always all opinions expressed are my own. You can read more here.

We have lived in our home for about 10 months now and everyday is something new. We move things around, we add little touches of us here and there and we love starting new projects! We were all super excited when the opportunity came up to partner with Big Lot's to give the kids a room refresh using their Dream Street Collection.

If you follow me over on Instagram then you know we have a thing for Big Lot's. They newly renovated their stores making it easier to navigate each isle and find everything you are looking for. They have everything! From affordable furniture sets, toys, household products and holiday decor all under one roof. Honestly, shopping for me can be overwhelming, with four kids and one of me, I want to make my trips to the store as quickly and as effectively as possible. This was not a challage when visiting my local Big Lot's to shop their Dream Street Collection for their room refresh.

I'm not going to lie, I really wanted to go all out with this project because their room was very simple. They didn't have a theme or a place for everything so it was really nice doing this. Plus, they helped pick every.single.item! Loved their confidence ha!

First Things First...

We decided from the start that we were going to paint their room, they each picked out their color and the mess began! We didn't really let them help much because we wanted to make this as quick and as clean as possible, gosh we all know that with 4 tiny hands that touch everything - that is nearly impossible. After everything was dry we put all the furniture back and the fun part began!

The Big Lot's Dream Street Collection offers affordable kids decor, furniture, bedding & giftable items. With four themes to shop from: SportsUnicorn, Woodland, and Mermaid there is something for every kids' stage.

The Reveal...

Putting their entire room together with our little family was the best! Not only did we get a head start on 2020 for our home projects but we were also able to shop for everything under one roof. One of Ayan's favorite pieces from his room are: the Lighting Nighlight and his new soccer ball Coin Bank.

His little reading/chillin' nook is the perfect little spot for him to unwind for a bit, read a book and hang out in his new Navy Blue Saucer Chair. That chair has been such hit with the kiddos, and its actually the cutest thing everrrr! We like to turn it up a notch so we added this Blue Plush Blanket as well as some sports themes throw pillows.

Nana bear also got a little reading nook and it's so perfect! Her Purple Unicorn Saucer Chair is one of her many favs! She spends a few minutes before school hanging out in her chair reading a book, or looking through her photo album. Of course she had to have a lamp and nightlight just like her brother and these are so cute! The unicorn is actually a Ceramic Nightlight, she turns it on just before bed.

To tie everything together in Ayan's room, we decided to go with this Navy & Red Plaid Twin/Full 3-Piece Comforter Set. Can you tell he loves blue? I think it's such a cute print that can definitely grow with your child and you can always dress it up or down with throw pillows and blankets. At first I thought the material from the comforter set seemed pretty rough and was a bit hesitant but as soon as I washed it, it became super soft and cozy. I also love that its lightweight but it will keep him toasty during these cold winter nights.

For Amayrani's room, we went with this Pink Circle Twin/Full 3-Piece Comforter Set and this Rainbow Sheet Set - They are super adorable and easy maintenance.

I am so happy with the way thier room turned out, it's sweet and totally their style! We already had a few car races, wrestling matches & dress up parties go down since their room refresh and we are looking forward to spending a lot more time in there.
